The Discovery Park Committee has been working very hard to raise the level of awareness of the Discovery Park Project coming to Sully Elementary School in October 2006. Follow the links to see just what we have been up to...

  • During the Discover Park Build, our photographer, Peter Klosky, will be taking pictures daily to show the progress of the site. Please Check back to this link daily for updated pictures.
    Watching our park grow on a daily basis will be fun, but not as much fun as being a part of the action. So don't forget to come out and help us BUILD!

  • The Parents and Teachers squared off again for a rousing game of soccer to help sign up volunteers for the build. Because we were successful in signing up 851 volunteers our Principal, Dr. Bowers, agreed to spend two nights on the roof of Sully Elementary School to honor our achievement.      Wednesday, October 4, 2006
  • Organization Day! Friends of Discovery Park gathered at Sully Elementary School for a reception and discussion with Representatives from Leathers & Associates regarding the upcoming build and the community support that is needed to make this dream a success.

  • We've built more saw-horses! Our second Breakfast with the Builders was a success! Please join us Saturday mornings from 8 a.m. to 12 noon for donuts, bagels, coffee, juice, milk and SAWDUST!!   • Today, was a day of fun and sportsmanship. Loudoun County's Bravest and Finest squared off for a friendly game of flag football to support and get the word out about Discovery Park. The audience was surprised with a great half-time show with the School Board and the Board of Supervisors of Loudoun County showing off their strengths outside of their everyday policy making positions in a game of tug-of-war.       Sunday, July 16, 2006
  • Today, the Loudoun County Sheriff’s Deputies faced off with the Loudoun County Fire & Rescue Squad for a photo opportunity to promote their upcoming football game on July 16, 2006 at the Park View High School.       Thursday, July 6, 2006
  • Peter Kronenberg and Valerie Petrey, Discovery Park General Coordinators, return to Harrisburg, PA to see the Possibility Place Playground in its final stages. This is living proof that the volunteer efforts of a community can payoff beautifully. Saturday, June 24, 2006
  • Over the weekend, 14 Discovery Park Volunteers traveled up to Harrisburg, PA to help our "neighbors" build their Possibility Place Playground. This was a great opportunity for the Discovery Park Volunteers to get hands-on experience, network with people and gather information. Saturday, June 17, 2006
  • The Sully Student Council Association (SCA) donated their entire profits of $321.87 from their year of soda and supply sales to Sully's Discovery Park. This was a great outpouring of support from the kids. Wednesday, June 14, 2006
  • The Sully PTO organized its 3rd Annual Fun Fair. There were games, a moon bounce, food and much more for the whole family. Another successful event for the Sully PTO! Saturday, June 10, 2006
  • The Discovery Park Childrens Committee organized a Talent Show for the students of Sully Elementary. All Students were invited to show off their talents. Some of the classes performed as a group as well. Tuesday, June 6, 2006
  • The Discovery Park Committee held a reception for the area community and all the contributors. Some of the artwork that will be seen around the park was displayed for all to see. Thursday, May 11, 2006
  • Sully Elementary Parents and Teachers played a friendly game of soccer to show their support for the park. The committee provided food for those sitting on the sidelines. The weather even cooperated! Wednesday, May 10, 2006
